Welcome to the Woman of Valor Substack
Who I Am.
My name is Christiana and I am the face and voice behind Woman of Valor. I grew up in a very legalistic denomination of Christianity, but when I was 19 years old, my journey of freedom began. Since then, God has filled me with a passion for freedom and justice in the church. I write about a variety of topics, including legalism, purity culture, deconstruction and biblical femininity. I also lead a women’s Bible study for women all around the world. My goal is to encourage, empower and embolden you to relentlessly pursue your true identity in Christ.
Why This? Why Now?
God has brought me so far, and I finally feel ready to face the dragon that is legalism in the church. I still have a long way to go, but I cannot be silent any longer. Awareness is raised one voice at a time.
I believe the church is at a very important crossroads right now. There are older generations trying to preserve the traditions they’ve held for hundreds of years. There are young people deconstructing many of those same traditions, and some of those individuals are leaving the church. But some, like myself, genuinely want to build up the Bride of Christ. That’s why I’m here, writing about these topics.
So What’s the Goal Here?
I get several messages a day from people (mostly women, but men too) asking me for help or advice on how to leave their situation. They typically come from a legalistic background, as I did, and they want out. My goal is to offer them a hand, a hope, a glimpse of the freedom that awaits them on the other side of the journey they’re just starting. If you are one of those people, I want you to know that God is for you, not against you. He wants you to experience the freedom of salvation.
What You’ll Get from Me.
If you follow me on twitter, you probably know that I often post long threads of intense information. I’ll be transferring that kind of content to my Substack from now on. I’ll still be tweeting, but in a smaller capacity. That way, you can find articles without having to scroll through the timeline or spend time reading individual tweets! It’s a win win!

Help Me Raise Awareness.
If you find my Substack helpful or insightful, please share it with your friends, especially those who may be struggling with these specific topics. Deconstruction, church hurt and purity culture are all very difficult things to work through. It’s easy to feel alone in the fight, so let’s help each other by being the body of Christ. We need community. If you’ve found freedom in Christ, you can help someone else by being the person you needed when you were asking questions.
