As you know (if you’ve followed me for any length of time) I was raised in a fundamentalist background. Among other things, this means that I never developed a sense of fashion until I was 20 years old. Don’t get me wrong, I THOUGHT I looked good (I didn’t) but now I have so many embarrassing photos to look back on, it’s laughable that I ever though I knew how to dress myself.
Fast forward to the present day, I’ve spent nearly 5 years figuring out my personal taste and what I like. I’ve made some mistakes along the way, but I finally feel like I know what clothing makes me feel beautiful and confident.
The road to this destination has not been an easy one, and if you have found yourself in the boat of fashion confusion, I sympathize with you. Also, allow me to offer my condolences on all those embarrassing photos you probably have.
Anyway, one of my most frequently asked questions is “how do I figure out my personal style after leaving legalism?”
I’m not going to pretend that I have all the answers to your fashion questions, I’m no Miranda Priestly; but I may be able to help you feel more confident in your own skin and in the clothes that you wear. That’s the goal here.
That being said, I am very excited to announce my very own style website, ValorVelour.com!
With Valor Velour you can try all sorts of different styles without committing to the cost of a whole new wardrobe! Valor Velour is powered by Haverdash, a massive clothing rental company that lets you try on clothes from tons of brands, very affordably! YAY!
There are hundreds of dresses, tops, and bottoms to choose from. You can rent unlimited items every month, try them on and send them back if you don’t love them, or if you do love them you can purchase them at a steep discount.
I’ve been so excited to share this with you all! As a woman who has struggled with bad self image and lack of confidence in the past, I want to help other women discover the freedom I’ve found.
I thrift a lot of my clothes, so it can be hard for me to help people find the exact items I wear, but Valor Velour allows me to share things that are actually accessible.
Valor Velour provides you with an affordable clothing rental service that includes free shipping, free exchanges, and free dry cleaning. All you have to do is put the clothes in your closet, try them on and feel confident!
Keep an eye on my Instagram for more updates @womnofvalor, and in the meantime, check out ValorVelour.com for yourself and try it for free!
